Hello! My name is Kangjin Yoon, and I have the privilege of writing the journal for the 2026 Japan Short-Term Mission.

Please pray that God would help me faithfully capture and share His amazing work on the mission field, so that our church family may be encouraged and blessed through these stories.

Many brothers and sisters came to church to see us off. We are now loading our luggage into the vans before heading to the airport. Once again, a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who kindly gave us a ride to the airport!

Before departing, we gathered together for a time of prayer, committing our journey and mission to the Lord.

With a joyful shout of SeungJuChan (SJC), we set off for the airport!

After a simple lunch at the airport, we gathered before boarding our flight for a time of Scripture meditation, preparing our hearts for the mission ahead.

At last, we arrived at Haneda Airport in Tokyo after crossing the sea! Pastor Hyun Kim warmly welcomed us upon our arrival.

After arriving at Tokyo Shibuya Evangelical Church, we had a chance to greet the church members before enjoying a delicious dinner together. Standing next to Pastor Hyun Kim in the photo is Brother Tatsuya, who will be serving as our interpreter throughout the mission.

Pastor Kim also shared some encouraging news with us. One of the families whose child attended previous VBS has since become connected to the church and is now faithfully attending services. We praise God for His continued work and faithfulness!

With VBS beginning tomorrow morning, everyone put their tiredness aside and eagerly got to work decorating the sanctuary. Filled with excitement as we looked forward to welcoming the children, we transformed the space with all the decorations and supplies we had brought, praying that it would become a place where they would experience God's love and joy.

No matter how tired we were, we couldn't end the day without worship. We closed our first day together with praise, prayer, and sharing our reflections from God's Word.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of our VBS and the start of our full ministry schedule!

We are expecting around 60 children to attend. Please pray that the seed of the gospel would be planted deeply in each child's heart. Pray also that through these children, entire families would come to know Christ, receive Him as their Savior, and experience the joy and hope of the gospel. Thank you so much for standing with us in prayer!

SJC!
