As part of the discipleship class, we studied the Gospel of Matthew and gained deeper knowledge of the life of Christ. However, what I really appreciated was spending time with and learning from my fellow brothers and sisters inside and outside of the discipleship classroom. We celebrated answered prayers together and encouraged each other during difficult times. My teacher and classmates helped me grow in my faith, and God truly opened my eyes. It reminded me of what the Lord said in Mark 8:18: “Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember?” I realized how sinful I am and how undeserving I am of God’s mercy.

In the last 8 months, there were many times when I felt God convicting me to examine my pride, selfishness, and faith. Sure, I knew that I had sinned in my life, but I thought I was still “good” in God’s eyes since I did what a good Christian is supposed to do. Instead of receiving validation of my “good” Christian life, God rebuked me and truly opened my eyes to see how selfish and prideful I am.

At the same time, God reminded me of His grace and faithfulness. He opened the door for me to start a new job that is more aligned with what I believe God wants me to do. I’m also thankful for the opportunity to participate in the Vision Center campaign. I’m grateful that God continues to grow my faith, changing my worldview and priorities, helping me focus less on temporary concerns and more on what has eternal value. I pray that I may continue to grow closer to God and build upon the foundation laid during this discipleship class. I don’t know what God has planned for the rest of my life. I just pray that I may continue to trust Him and walk in obedience.

The past eight months of being in class together with you have truly been a time of gratitude.
You not only cared for our class with diligence and attentiveness, but above all, you led us with love.
As time went on, we became one—not only sharing our faith and daily lives, but also becoming like a family where we could comfortably share even light jokes and playful moments.

Thank you TJ
