Reading Absolute Surrender has led me to deeply consider my own walk with God and whether
my life is truly yielded to Him. Murray discusses many profound truths, but I was most convicted
by the idea that surrender depends on God's ability to take possession of my life rather than my
own strength to let go. I have realized that this state is maintained by the Holy Spirit and that the
primary evidence of a surrendered heart is a life defined by love.

I truly believe that only God's power is capable of transforming my heart. Recently, our church
has been proclaiming the vision of Paratz, which is the belief that there will be a breakthrough in
every area of our lives, our community, and the world around us. For a long time, I wrestled with
parts of my circumstances that I felt unable to change. I think I eventually convinced myself that
it was acceptable for those areas to remain stagnant. However, I now see that my frustration
came from trying to fix things through my own effort. Even though I prayed multiple times, I
subconsciously had a subtle unbelief in my heart that perhaps God is not willing to change
them. Witnessing the breakthroughs God brought in His own timing over the past year has
shown me that while I cannot change myself, He can mold me for His purpose if I simply allow
and trust Him to take control.

This transformation is sustained through the Holy Spirit rekindling my heart every day. I am
learning that surrender is not just an emotional peak during worship but a commitment to habits
of holiness. Participating in my Disciples class has been vital for establishing microhabits like
consistent prayer and reading the Word. These moments allow me to set apart time to pray for
my family, my work, and my fellow church members. Even though I occasionally fail to keep
these disciplines, I have a deep peace knowing that the same God who began this work in me is
faithful to continue it. My prayer is that my trust in Him grows so that my entire future remains in
His hands.

Finally, Murray's emphasis on love as the fruit of the Spirit has challenged my interactions with
others. I am still discovering how to love selflessly as Christ did, and I have realized that the
form of that love varies. A recent study of Leviticus gave me a strong conviction that truly loving
others includes having honest conversations. As an introvert, it is often difficult for me to share
my feelings or speak up directly with other people, especially if they do not share my values. I
believe God is calling me to break out of that shell and love people by being transparent and
truthful in my words. Absolute Surrender has taught me to stop relying on my own self serving
efforts and instead put my complete faith in Christ for everything I am and do.
